Welcome!

I'm not new to talking, sharing ideas, or stating my opinion, especially stating my opinion! After all, I taught elementary school for 30 years! However, my audience has typically been smaller,just family, the classroom, or just talking to myself!

My blog has two goals: be an outlet for sharing thoughts on writing children's books and the path to publication (got my fingers crossed that I'll get there) and a place to chronicle my journey of losing my sight. Sometimes I imagine these two paths will overlap .

Write From The Soul


 This is how I feel about going to the beach!!! 

A good friend invited me to go with her , her 17 year old granddaughter, and the grand's friend for 5 days to North Myrtle Beach.
(heaven, I'm in heaven....she hums as she dances around)                                                                

At first I felt guilty because I planned to use this week to do manuscript revisions in prep for Chautauqua. I don't have a laptop, so I couldn't write at the beach. BUT..... my friend DOES have a laptop and will bring it so all I needed to do was toss that thumb drive into the suitcase. So no guilt and I can beach/pool in the day and write at night.

I've had my suitcase packed since Thursday. Morning. We don't leave until tomorrow. Sunday. Not very excited, am I?! 

I suppose I could blog from the beach. But there's no WIFI in the condo and besides, when will I have time between the beach/pool, reading, writing, and eating??? So au revoir until June 25thish.

And....yes mom, I do have my sunscreen and hat.
